After the first of two days of friendly competition at the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin, Ireland the national team from Denmark emerged as leader in the men's tournament staying unbeaten in two games. The Danish team held off Scotland in their first match-up 11-12 and later on Saturday defeated Wales in another high scoring encounter 14-19. Hosts Ireland kicked off the tournament in positive fashion by beating Wales 8-16 in the weekend's first match. Scotland however gained their first win beating Ireland 14-10 to conclude day 1 action. In the women's tournament Ireland and Scotland emerged victorious. The Irish women convincingly got past Wales 4-17 while Scotland got the better of Denmark 11-6. The four-nation friendly tournaments will be concluded on Sunday.
